Random Track On Work Computer

Hey All,

Just cleaned out the files on my work computer, and I found a random MP3 file on it. I remember making the track at home, but I don't recall exporting it, let alone bringing it to work.

Anyone wants it, its here ...

Ashes to Ashes

Thanks,

Cleaning My Reason 4.0 Folder

So, it was time! Time to move on from one project to the next. The way this happens is a cleansing. For music making, the cleansing begins with clearing one computer folder at a time, albums find their way back to the market, equipment is cleaned, upgraded or tossed, and my palette is refreshed.

Now that I'm focused on my next projects, I had to clean out my Reason 4.0 files to get my brain clear. In the process of making the last album, I had over 140 files to clean out. When the dust settled, I was left holding onto 35.

Below are links to six of that 35 I quickly exported to share. These are bare-boned compositions that let me know if there's anything to pop bells and whistles on. To all my artistic friends, please feel free to use any of these the way you see fit on anything. Let me know if you need raw files and BPM.

TRACKS:
1. Wonderland: Used on Mary Bee's Fiesole
2. Breaking Up Homes
3. Do It One More Time
4. The Ghetto
5. Time Must Fast Forward
6. You're Special

I hope you all enjoy and look forward to catching up with some of you in the near future.

On To The Next One ...

So Fiesole is out and doing well! (Thank you'll for your support, the feedback has been amazing)

Mary and I are now thinking about the next project. It's going to take some time, but the goal is to build on the sound and become even more picky with the production, the sound, the source material, the concept, the recording, etc.

I'm not sure where all that will lead us in the next project, but I am sure of one thing. We want to get out friends and musical relationships involved. We have been asking friends and fellow musician to join in the process of creating our next project.

From lending us your sound to sample, to collaborating on a song ... we want anyone willing to help us build upon our sonic foundation. We want it to truly be a reflection of who we are and our influence.

The last couple of weeks, Mary has been asking people to support this concept and the response has been better then we hoped. In the very near future, I will be calling in people to lend their talents to give us a new diversity to our project. Don't get me wrong, this is a process and will take some time to bear fruit, but the end product will be an awesome mesh of art!

Hope to speak to you all soon!
David

"Fiesole" Now On iTunes

An hour after I wrote out that last blast, Marybee informed me that 'Fiesole" is now up on iTunes and ready for purchase. Okay now I'm really excited.

So, if you have a moment, load up iTunes, go to the store, search for "Fiesole" by Marybee and David Gonzalez, buy a couple of tracks or the album, rate and review them. That would be awesome!

I hope to be working with some of you all soon as it is my mission to get out of my house in 2010!

Thanks for the support!

New CD "Fiesole" by Marybee is pressed and in my hands!

As I write, I am looking at a copy of "Fiesole" by Marybee and myself. It has been a year since I started producing this album and having it in my hands is awesome!

There are 11 tracks, all featuring Mary's vocals, my production, and hints of Hip-Hop every now-and-again. I will try and get a couple of copies out to friends and family as soon as I can.

As of right now, I believe you can purchase a copy online from Providence's own "Armageddon" music store. I think it will be digital and up on iTunes in the next month or so. I will keep everyone posted.

I would like to show good faith to Armageddon, and support local shops, so if you are going to buy a copy and don't mind the shipping time, please buy it from them first.

Thank you all for your support and hopefully I'll be talking and/or seeing you all soon.

Marybee Album Almost Done!

Since moving and living in Chicago for the past couple of months (six months to be exact) there has been loads of developments in my wonderful world. My daughter, Prajna, has two, SHARP, bottom teeth. I know how to drive around and not get lost. I found a record store I love. And to real die hard fans, the Boston Celtics provided us with an "EPIC Fail" in this year's NBA playoffs after their great series with Da Bulls.

One thing that was consistent through the months was the work on the Marybee's album (untitled as of now). As I type this, I am mixing the last two songs. I know I'm bias due to producing the music, but I have to say ... I'm really happy with what we got.

My main goal throughout was to make sure we got good music that was unclassifiable and stood out in the crowd of Acoustic/Songwriters Mary is sometimes associated with. I gave Mary over 40 beats to work with, through process of elimination, many of the Hip-Hop influenced instrumentals didn't make the cut. What did was music I was experimenting new techniques and new equipment with. It lead to a really diverse set of source material and an overall signature sound that is present throughout the album.

Unlike other projects I've been connected to, many of the songs were tested on stage by Mary. Instead of trying to keep the body of work in a vault, we performed the pieces before recording to find it's life and to make the proper changes to make it pop. Through this process, some songs didn't find their way to being recorded, others were altered, few were remixed all-together. Performing the songs before recording gave us an upper hand by working with the feedback provided by the stage and audience.

So, I'll be finishing the last couple of songs by the end of this week. I think it's safe to say the album will be ready as early as mid-to-late-July, but no later then mid-August. I'm also sure the details on how to get your hands on a copy and/or to sample some tracks will be posted at www.marybeemusic.com. So check it out. I really enjoyed working with Marybee and I'm excited to share our project.

Quick aside, Marybee is up for Best Singer/Songwriter in the Providence Phoenix. Please take a minute to vote at (http://thephoenix.com/BMP/Providence/vote/SingerSongwriterAct/).
